About
Northern Exposure is a scholarship program that brings artists based in the border states of Mexico to the Medium Review. We invite artists residing in the Mexican border states of Baja California Norte, Sonora, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León, and Tamaulipas to submit an application in Fall 2021 to attend the Medium Review and Festival taking place in February 2022. Five artist scholarships will be awarded by a jury of fine art photographers and curators.

What is the Medium Portfolio Review?
The Medium Portfolio Review takes place over two days at the Lafayette Hotel in San Diego. The review is a chance for photographers to meet gallery owners, photo editors, museum curators, art space directors, and book and magazine publishers who are there to see new photography. Each participating photographer is scheduled for eight twenty-minute meetings in which to share their work with these reviewers.
The review is also a great chance to get to know fellow-photographers as well as attend artist lectures and other events. The Medium Review prides itself on being a small, welcoming, relaxed and supportive environment for everyone who attends.
