Quarterly Members Critique

Beginning Wed., March 13, 2024, 6:30 - 8:00pm

Medium Photo quarterly critiques are in-person events for Medium Photo members at the Artist level and above to receive feedback on new work in photography.

Four artists are given the opportunity to share photographic works in printed form (or sculptural if works are 3D) in a moderated setting. Each critique is held in a forum that embraces Medium Photo’s core values of Kindness and Curiosity. We encourage open dialog, careful looking, and constructive feedback for each presenting artist. Contemplative silence is also welcome!

Four artists per event will share their work on a first come, first served basis, with an average of 20 minutes per artist. Anyone who brings work and doesn’t get a chance to share will receive priority status at the following critique.

Each quarterly critique is open to the general public, however you must be a Medium Photo member at the Artist level or above to present your work.

What to expect

Medium Photo and Marshall Williams studio will provide table space and seating for up to 20 people at each critique. Artists whose work benefits from supporting video content are asked to bring a laptop or tablet to share additional content. Projectors are not provided at quarterly critiques.

Location

Quarterly critiques are generously hosted in a working photography studio operated by Marshall Williams. The studio has plenty of street parking including in the dirt lot at the end of Banks Street.

Food and drinks are not provided at the critiques, although we encourage attendees to support Deft Brewing before or after each event. They are directly across the street and offer European-inspired craft beers, wood fired pizzas, sandwiches, salads, appetizers and desserts. Deft Brewing is open until 9:00pm on weekdays.
