This introductory workshop is intended for non-professional photographers or photography enthusiasts who want to learn how to take better images using their phones. While primarily a photography workshop it will also cover some video, and voice recording best practices.

Cyanotype Workshop: Photography with the Sun and Sea

Join Oriana Poindexter for an interactive cyanotype workshop. Learn this early alternative photographic process and use organic materials to create your own cyanotype prints using photo chemistry techniques first developed in the 1840s.
Making Diptychs, with Alan Nakkash
april 9, 10am to 12:00pm
This workshop helps photographers focus on the relationships images can have when placed together and what meaning can be extracted from that exercise. The second part will consist of processing and building the diptychs in a City College classroom where we’ll look at them and develop a better understanding of how those visual relationships work.
Justin Maxon: Field Guide to a Crisis

Justin Maxon is a socially engaged artist and a Faculty member in the Art Department at Cal Poly Humboldt. He collaborates with communities in a unique project where participants present their skills through lesson plans, instructional videos, and public presentations. Field Guide is a socially engaged art project that prepares people in recovery, living in sober homes in Eureka, CA, to be educators in resiliency.
