Paris Photo / Aperture PhotoBook Awards Exhibition

Ten years ago, Paris Photo and Aperture joined forces to create the Paris Photo–Aperture PhotoBook Awards—a celebration of the photobook’s contributions to the evolving narrative of photography. The awards recognize excellence in three categories of photobook publishing: First PhotoBook, PhotoBook of the Year, and Photography Catalogue of the Year


Four artists from Medium Photo’s Black Artist Scholarship program explore complex questions surrounding slavery, racism, sexism, cultural and historical representations, familial ties to the past, and a visceral connection to the outside world. Collectively, they create a space for dialogue and thought that acknowledges, celebrates, and redefines the new Black legacy.


Minor Imperfections: A Solo Exhibition by Annie Claflin

April 1 - June 30, Grossmont Healthcare District’s Health & Wellness Library

Minor Imperfections explores artist Annie Claflin’s struggle to maintain a consistent identity while battling mental health issues. She uses fragmented photographic emulsion lifts and distressed collages of her facial features to illustrate a primary symptom of her illness - body dysmorphia, an obsession with perceived physical flaws.

Medium Photo’s annual exhibition celebrating photo-based works smaller than 10”. Held annually at locations across San Diego, this year’s exhibition is hosted by San Diego Mesa College.


Northern Exposure

An exhibition of our 2023 Northern Exposure scholarship recipients held at the Autonomous University of Baja California. The Tijuana bus tour will stop at this location on April 16, with regional scholarship recipients in attendance.


Bring the Light: A Black & White Film Photography Showcase

April 28, 4:00 - 9:00pm, Pikku Salon

A special evening of photography as Waldorf School of San Diego High School students share their creations, as they delve into film photography. Like a parent sharing the joy of their toddler having ice cream for the first time, come rediscover the freshness of photojournalism, portraiture, and experimental photography as interpreted by our students - in black & white.
